Imagine driving only 25 minutes from the lush, green Comox Valley nestled beside the Pacific, to a snowbound wonderland with beautifully wooded glades, alpine bowls and some of the best views on the planet. Mount Washington Alpine Resort on beautiful Vancouver Island merges imagination with reality! Straddling spectacular Strathcona Provincial Park and overlooking the Pacific Ocean, the resort is truly a snow magnet. Snowfall averages a legendary 35 feet or 10 metres every season.

Mount Washington Alpine Resort recently raised the bar for Vancouver Island riding with the opening of The Outback. Magnificent glade skiing, deep alpine bowls and steep drops are trademarks of this 400-acre riding paradise. To enhance your Outback experience, new glading through summer 2006 has created more space between the Outback's epic tree lines! The resort's depth goes beyond steep and deep as it boasts long, sweeping cruisers and gentle beginner slopes. The mountain's 9 lifts graciously serve over 1600 acres of riding terrain.

In order to keep the kids of all ages happy, the resort boasts two terrain parks. One park is the perfect learning area for beginners and is located just off the six-person high-speed Hawk Chair. The second terrain park, and notably the bigger brother of the two, is located just below Mount Washington's peak. It's home to an array of skill-testing rails, tabletops, berms, fun boxes, and natural hits.

Mount Washington is a family-oriented resort with a fine selection of services including six restaurants, a snow school that offers instruction for all ages and abilities, and an Alpine Village with ski-in/ski-out accommodation for over 4000 people. If slopeside accommodation is your style, the twin Bear and Deer Lodges are conveniently located in the middle of the action, right beside the Alpine Lodge.
