Nestled in the mountains of the Canadian Shield (some of the oldest rock in the world) in Northern Ontario, we are 30 miles northeast of the border city of Sault Ste. Marie. Searchmont is just 90 minutes north of the Mackinaw Bridge and only 6 to 8 hours from Detroit, Michigan, Milwaukee, Wisconsin or Chicago, Illinois.

All activities take place around two peaks oriented from a western to a south-eastern direction in Canada's pre-Cambrian rock formation, which makes it the only Midwest resort which is actually located on a mountain! Since we are in the Canadian Shield, we have more challenging terrain, longer runs...AND, we are usually less crowded than the other resorts.

If you have skied or boarded at Searchmont, please feel free to share your experiences.
